Frequently asked questions about this course

What is AI competency under Art. 4 EU AI Act?

Art. 4 EU AI Act requires providers and deployers of AI systems to ensure that everyone who uses AI on their behalf has sufficient AI competency. This means: anyone using AI for business purposes must actively engage with the topic, take measures, and document them. A course certificate can serve as a documentable building block, but it does not replace individual legal assessment.

What is AI compliance?

AI compliance means knowing, keeping track of, and systematically addressing the relevant legal and ethical requirements when using artificial intelligence for business purposes. The most important frameworks are the EU AI Act and the GDPR, but depending on your industry and use case, other regulations may also be relevant. AI compliance is not a one-off task but an ongoing process. This includes: knowing and documenting your own AI use, classifying the risk class of the tools you use, checking data protection requirements, building AI competency and refreshing it regularly, and keeping an eye on changes in legislation. Everyone is responsible for knowing the requirements relevant to them and addressing them in a structured way. This course provides orientation and practical tools for that. Implementation is up to you.
